Mother’s day is right around the corner and what better way to show you care than by making your own DIY Mother’s Day flip flops for under $2. Yup, you heard right, these cute little beauties won’t cost an arm and a leg but will have mom looking fabulous this year! Head on over to your local dollar store and let’s get to crafting!
What you will need:
Flip flops in Mom’s favorite color
Pretties for decorating (Check out the flower or craft section for silk flowers, butterflies and felt cut outs)
Hot glue and a hot glue gun (regular craft or elmers glue does not work well, the hot glue will hold up better and won’t fall off)
Ribbon (optional depending on what Mom would like)
All of these items can be found at your local dollar store and should only cost around $1!! A homemade gift and you are being frugal….mom will be soooo proud!
Directions:
1) Begin your project by deciding what you would like to put on your flip flops. Remember you will need a set of two, one for each flip flop.
2) Apply your glue to your pretties that you are going to put on the shoe, be generous with the glue! Press it to the spot of the flip flop that would rest between the toe.
3) Repeat on shoe number 2 🙂
4) Give the flip flops over an hour to dry. Mom is surely to love them and I don’t know where you live but it is definitely flip flop weather here!!
What do you have planned for Mother’s day?? I am hoping to have a great day at the lake with the kiddos making grilling out and doing a little fishing. Have fun making your DIY Mother’s Day flip flops.
