Feeling down? Sometimes our minds get the best of us and we get stuck in a rut or maybe things have happened that are beyond your control. There are some things you can do to keep your mind more focused and positive. Reading scriptures is one of those things. The right scripture can really brighten your day and make it all worthwhile.

#1. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. Psalm 71:16

Knowing that you can get your strength from God should give you peace right now. Of course, praising God because of the strength he’s given us is also wise.

#2. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. I Cor. 9:24

How awesome to know that we’re all running this race together. Of course, the ultimate prize is our salvation with Jesus Christ.

#3. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.  II Tim. 1:7

Although we may be stressed out beyond belief, we should take heart in knowing that God helps us not live in the spirit of fear.

#4. It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

When you’re feeling down, just keep in mind that God can and will give you strength, you just need to ask for it.

#5. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”  John 10:28-29

When I’m feeling really down, I take a long hard look at myself and realize that at the end of this life, nothing really matters but eternity! God has given us eternal life, and even though today is bad, our forever is good.

#6. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Loving God is great because he has a purpose for your life. Whether you’re down about a job loss or whatever, God knows what your future holds.

#7. But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

I love this verse because I often run out of strength and wonder where I should turn. I think back to this verse and know exactly where I need to run!

#8. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

God’s plan for your future isn’t to make you suffer and he doesn’t like when you’re feeling down. Just remember that he has hopes and a bright future for you!

#9. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

This verse is so uplifting! Sometimes we’re down because of what others have done or said to us. Although you may feel like everyone is against you, just remember that God is for you!

#10. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

If you’re burdened with everyday life, just remember that you can always rest in God’s arms.

The next time you’re feeling down, just think back to these 10 scriptures to help you out. Just keep in mind that God is bigger than our everyday, he’ll get us through it. Nobody likes feeling down but sometimes bad things in life happen to good people. Don’t feel down but instead hold your head up high and except the challenge with a happy heart. Although you may think you are going through life’s challenges alone. You are not! God is right by your side when you are feeling down. Just look to him to help you get back up.

What verse would you add to this list?
