The other day I posted about a book called If You Give a Pig a Pancake and gave you some simple Math and Literacy Pre-K Kids Activity and a Story Basket to go with it! I was playing around with some printables and decided to do a Do-A-Dot printable on the same theme.
Just what is a Do A Dot printable??
I make these for my Pre-K classroom and print them off for the kids to use with Do-A-Dot Dabber Markers. The markers are pretty much like the old bingo markers but be careful using those. I had a few that really would not come out at all from my daughters clothing. The kids then dab the dots on the worksheet to make a picture.
This Helps With:
- developing hand grip
- matching of colors
- building small motor skills
- encouraging art and creativity

Completing a Do-A-Dot Pre-K printable pack will really help in learning to write eventually. One of the first ways to learning to write is learning to control your hand. Over the years you gain more and more control and eventually you will see your son/daughter develop enough hand control to begin to write letters!!
Remember to ask plenty of questions after your child completes each sheet.
- I love that color, why did you choose blue?
- How many dots did you fill in on this sheet?
- Do you remember what happened first in the story?
- Did she like the syrup in the story? Do you?
