If you are a mother to teenagers or have a husband who does manual labor or just plain old sweats a lot you are going to love this laundry stain remover. My husband works outside a lot and sweats and is in dust and dirt constantly. This leaves us with armpit stains and ring around the collar all of the time!

Now when I worked in the medical field as an EMT I quickly learned that hydrogen peroxide works very well for removing blood from clothing. So when I found this laundry stain remover method I could just tell it was a sure fire hit…. and it was!

how to remove armpit stains

Ingredients:

  • Dawn Dish Washing Liquid
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Baking Soda

Directions:

  1. Mix 1 part Dawn dish-washing liquid with 2 parts hydrogen peroxide.
  2. Pour a small amount of baking soda on the stained area.
  3. Then add your liquid mixture and scrub in well (I used a small scrub brush).
  4. Watch the stains disappear!

WOW! Was I surprised with the way the stains just seemed to melt away! I had tried adding straight bleach to the stains on the white shirts and had no luck with stain removal but this magical solution worked like magic on armpit stains and ring around the collar! I tried it on whites and coloreds and it worked great on both with no wear and tare on the clothing at all!

As you can imagine my hubbie was thrilled. He said it is so embarrassing to have armpit stains and the horrible ring around the color. Now instead of spending the money on new shirts we can save the money for our kid’s activities and vacations instead.

Let me know if you get a chance to try it if you have just as good of luck as I had. Don’t forget that hydrogen peroxide alone can do wonders with getting blood stains from clothing especially if you rub it onto the stain as soon as you can. It’s funny the little tips that you pick up in life as you get older.

Make sure you stop by and check out my DIY Reusable dryer sheet post. I absolutely love them and they are better for the environment and you pocket book as well.
