As most of you know I am a full time mommy and I also work full time. How in the world is that even possible you might ask…. well I work in the Pre-K room where my 3 year old goes to school. So you see, I am with her all the time and I receive a paycheck also. Pretty nice huh??
Now that you have really thought about it you might start to realize that dealing with my own child in a Pre-K classroom along with 17 other Pre-schoolers may tend to get a little stressful at the young age of 43…… yes you heard me right. I am 43 and I have a 3 year old and a freshman in high school. Let me tell you that it really keeps me on my toes sometimes.
What I have learned about stress in my life is that you cannot control the stress that you are under but you can control how your body and mind reacts to it. Here are my top 5 ways to reduce stress……
Use Your Mind – Your mind is a very tricky place but once you learn how to use your mind to control stress and you practice keeping it under control it will soon come natural to you. When stress comes your way put it in it’s place. Don’t let your mind think about the negatives but instead think about the positives. Stress can overwhelm you at times but if you think about stress as little challenges in life that need to be overcome…. or at least lived through then it will be easier to keep the stress at bay.
Exercise – Now don’t start rolling your eyes just yet. I know the whole drill…. when your stressed out how in the world are you supposed to have time to exercise. Well let me put it to you in a little different way. How can you NOT have time to exercise? There is nothing better when your frustrated than pounding out your frustrations with a little cardio. Jump on the treadmill or on my favorite machine…. the Elliptical machine. It’s easy on your joints and you can just hop on and go to town! It’s a great way to reduce stress in your life and will actually give you energy if you just stick with it. Start with 3 days a week and work you way up to 5 days over time.
Use All-Natural Products – There are plenty of all-natural stress relief products on the market… my favorite ones are RESCUE Pastilles. I carry a cute little yellow tin in my purse and anytime I feel the stress on the rise I pop one of these bad boys into my mouth and chew away. They are wonderful all-natural stress relievers that have a wonderful black currant flavor. From the moment I first tried them I fell in love.
RESCUE Pastilles are a great way to help you stress less, and stay calm and in control. They are developed by a doctor: Gentle and safe – non habit-forming with no side effects. If you are interested in giving them a try here is a great BOGO coupon for you to use!!
- RESCUE stress relief products are available now in the US at CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Sprouts and wherever you find natural products!
Learn to Breath – Just like when you were in labor ladies you must learn to breath!!! Ok, maybe I’m just a little exaggerating by saying stress is anything like labor but there is a lot to be said about deep breathing. If you take the time to breath deeply during moments of stress and take the time to do it right (you can even try closing your eyes and go for a mini meditation time) you can quickly reduce stress.
Get Plenty of Rest – This day and age it’s a little hard to get the correct amount of sleep but it is very important that you do. When I am running low on sleep I am very short and don’t have much patience with the little ones. Getting plenty of rest is probably one of the most important things to do to reduce stress. Make sure you have a set bedtime every night, take a nice hot relaxing bath, cut down on your screen time and you may even want to try RESCUE Sleep Liquid Melts before bedtime.
